The engineers at Mimaki must have had a busy summer! October will bring the launch of two brand new models to the Mimaki line of flatbed UV-LED inkjet printers: the UJF-3042 MKII e and the UJF-6042 MKII e.
These are the successor models to the UJF-3042FX/HG and UJF-6042 and they offer the ability to accommodate a much wider range of UV-LED printing applications. Here are some of the innovative features we’re most excited about:
High Speed, Advanced Mechanics
Both of these new Mimaki printer models reach best-in-class print speeds that are approximately 20% faster than conventional flatbed printer models, making them fully capable of supporting on-demand printing applications and expediting the end product.
With fully covered print tables, ink odor is reduced and allows use of the printer in places where people would otherwise be affected, like offices or retail stores. Plus, this creates a reduction in dust adhesion, which helps preserve the final print quality.
And unlike conventional models, the print table moves during printing to reduce printer unit vibration and is accurately controlled to improve the placement of ink dots. Direct printing is possible on objects of up to 153mm in thickness.
Next Level Inks
Mimaki’s high-performing inks expand the range of possible applications. The LUS-120 ink is fully capable of printing on soft materials like leather or polyurethane and the LUS-150—which will be compatible in the near future—works well on materials like acrylic, making applications on indoor signs and trophies trouble-free.
The LH-100 ink is scratch and chemical-resistant and is ideal for printing products like smartphone cases or key fobs made of resin, plastic and other rigid substrates. Using the PR-200 primer increases each of the inks’ adhesion to glass, metal and other materials requiring surface treatment.
Worry-Free Operations
The new models also bring advanced technology to streamline production and reduce the time employees need to spend on operations. Mimaki’s Nozzle Checking Unit (NCU) can automatically detect clogged nozzles and clean them out without an operator even needing to be involved.
The Nozzle Recovery System (NRS) will use only well-performing nozzles as a substitute if the clogged ones aren’t fixed after the cleaning. Both of these procedures allow consistent printing and reduce wasted operations due to defective nozzles.
These models have even more features that will enhance the quality of your prints. To learn more about each printer, contact us today!
