Change is in the air over at Mimaki: The industry-leading printer manufacturer unveiled upgrades to not one, but three of its most popular UV flatbed printers, as well as a brand-new model. Let’s take a closer look at these exciting updates:
The UJF-3042 MkII is Now the UJF-3042 MkII e
A name change isn’t the only thing new about the UJF-3042 MkII e: The popular UV-LED flatbed printer now includes 2.5D technology with Artista texture library support. This new software-based functionality layers ink in different custom configurations, enabling users to create beveled and rounded edges and otherwise add dimension to prints. The UJF-3042 MkII e also offers connected printing capabilities via Mimaki Device Language (MDL) commands. This innovative technology enables two-way communication between the printer and your computer and streamlines the printing process by automating essential workflows. Last but not least, the UJF-3042 MkII e sports a stylish new silver and black design and updated glass hood.
The UJF-6042 MkII is Now the UJF-6042 MkII e
Designed for larger-scale and higher volume applications, the new-and-improved UJF-6042 MkII e incorporates all of the same updated technological and design elements as the UJF-3042 MkII e with an added bonus: a $7,000 price reduction from the original UJF-6042 MkII model.
The UJF-7151 Plus is Now the UJF-7151 Plus II
Of all of Mimaki’s recent updates, this may be the most exciting: The new UJF-7151 adds two new industrial piezo print heads, increasing the total number from six to eight and opening the door to a wider variety of ink configurations for delicate color expressions. The UJF-7151 Plus II also introduces a new color gloss function, which enables users to modify UV light intensity and slow ink curing speed, thereby controlling how ink spreads out over substrates and creating a true glossy finish. This process can be completed in a single step, saving considerable time and preventing the use of excess consumables.
Other improvements include a new 1800 dpi printing mode for more high-definition quality with less graininess and fewer color irregularities, print speeds up to 190% faster than the original UJF-7151 Plus and an increased print bed capacity load of 66 lbs. Like the UJF-3042 MkII and the UJF-6042 MkII e, the UJF-7151 Plus II includes 2.5D technology with Artista texture library support and MDL commands for automation workflows.
Mimaki Debuts the New JFX 600-2513
As part of this release, Mimaki has debuted the all-new JFX600-2513, which takes the JFX200-2513 table and adds a massive print head carriage with a whopping 16 print heads. By substantially increasing the total the number of print heads, the JFX600-2513 is able to achieve print speeds up to 300% faster than its predecessor, making it ideally suited for high production volumes. The JFX600-2513 is also available in a six color configuration to facilitate vibrant, intense colors and boasts 2.5D printing and MDL command capabilities.
The JFX600-2513 is an excellent option for those who have outgrown their current printer’s production capabilities but wish to stay within the Mimaki family. The depth of Mimaki’s product portfolio and the transferability of its software, inks and even ink bottles make it easy for current JFX200-2513, UJF-7151 Plus and UJF-6042 MkII users to upgrade to the JFX600-2513.
In addition to refreshing its UV flatbed printer line, Mimaki has also reduced the price of the JFX200-2513 to $55,000 and that of the JFX200-2513 EX to $69,000 — a savings of $20,000 and $15,000, respectively.
